Summer? Part 2
I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who has been thinking about their fall wardrobe already! I love summer, since I'm a summer baby, but there's something about Autumn/ Winter that gets me excited too lol. I love scarves and hats and gloves! And dark plum colours! I even planning my fall makeup lol. So here's what I'm thinking.....
I'm loving black eyeshadow, after I saw Kirsty Gallacher wearing it on GMTV! And dark lips! I think the darker the better! I'm not sure if I can rock both though lol. I think Barry M, dazzle dust no. 66 is the best, if you want a really intense look but unfortunately my local superdrug had run out so the next best was Collection 2000 Colour Intense Trio No 1. Silver Storm- which also has silver and white aswell as black and is great for doing a smoky eye with.
I'm also loving fake eyelashes since I wore fake eyelashes on my birthday. I think they just give you a oh-so-feminine look! I been shopping around for a glamorous but cheap pair and NYC cosmetics do 3 different kinds for £1.99!!!! Bargain or what! I also decided to get Max factor false lash effect effect for those days when I just can't be bothered!

Excuse the close up lol but what do you think? I'm wearing the mascara on my left eye only so you can see the difference. I think its GREAT! It does exactly what it says on the bottle lol.

Let's talk Make Up!
For Spring 2011 make up looks over all are very natural, using soft pinks and peaches with a soft lip and light blush.
You do not need to be a trained make up artist to pull off a beautifully natural look. A good trick I go by, is to use a tinted moisturizer and follow with your foundation or powder if needed. Next, curl your lashes and sweep a pink or coral blush across the apples of your cheeks. Once you brighten your cheeks up a bit, you will be surprised at how little make up you actually need. Apply one coat of mascara and a light peach gloss or matte lip stick and you're all set!
While each season tends to have a natural look trend and a more dramatic look trend, the dramatic look for Spring 2011 is a bright shadow and bright matte lip. While this look is great for the runway, it makes wearing for every day a little difficult. I would recommend choosing one or the other for a night time look. If you decide to go with a bright lid, apply minimal or no blush and a nude lip. If you're going with a bright lip, keep the eyes very simple with maybe a beige shadow and light application of mascara. Balance is key to a beautiful make up look. A good rule of thumb to remember is that makeup is intended to enhance your natural beauty, not mask it.
Using good products does not always mean having to break the bank for the sake of beauty. Brands like Revlon and L'oreal have really re-vamped their product lines and are developing quality make up for drug store prices. Some of my favorite lip sticks are by Revlon, they have a great variety of colors, and they have even started packaging their lip sticks in a Chanel-looking case. Super cute huh?
Why Sigma Brushes are the only Make-up Brushes I Need
Last Christmas I received some money and decided I wanted to invest in some good quality make-up brushes. Some of the beauty gurus I enjoy watching on YouTube such as MakeupByTiffanyD and DulceCandy87, recommend the Sigma brushes. Sometimes beauty gurus offer you a discount code to use on the Sigma website, I didn’t however use one of these myself as the brushes were all ready being sold at a discounted price. Although it meant having to have them shipped over the prices seemed reasonable and so I decided to go for it and I ordered the pink brush roll. While I can’t remember exactly how much it cost me, I do know it was somewhere around £60-£70 pounds including shipping.
In checking the website for the purposes of this post I see that they no longer offer the pink brush roll that I purchased, however, they do have it in black and the price on the website, which is www.sigmabeauty.com , is $109 not including shipping.
The black brush roll contains exactly the same brushes as the pink roll that I purchased, there are 12 brushes in total which are : the F30-Large Powder Brush, F50 – Duo Fibre, F60-Foundation, F40-Large Angled Contour, F70-Conceler, E40-Tapered Blending, E55-Eye Shading, E60-Large Shader, E65-Small Angle, E70-Medium Angled Shading, E30-Pencil, E05-Eyeliner.
I use these brushes every single day and can honestly say I don’t know how I managed to put my make-up on without them. When I just got them I was still using Smashbox brushes as well as the Sigma ones but now I am only using the Sigma brushes as it is so convienient to grab the brush roll and have everything I need in the one place to create my look. Not only that but if I am travelling anywhere or doing a sleepover as part of my job as a Care and Support worker, I can take the roll with me in my overnight bag and not have to limit myself to taking only a few brushes.
I wash my brushes as and when I need to using Johnsons Baby Shampoo and I haven’t had any problems with them shedding becoming slack, or loosing their shape. All in all I highly recommend these brushes and I feel that they are great value for money. In the future I would like to try other brushes from Sigma but for now these brushes really are all I need.
Makeup Brush · Bella Poll
There is a different makeup brush for every cosmetic genre on the market, and each season even more brushes are developed to show up those from year's past. They come in all hairs, shapes, qualities, and travel sizes, and if you're not careful you can wind up with a lot of the same thing.
I'm a beauty junkie and I'd say I've got an excessive amount: somewhere between 20 and 25 brushes. How many different makeup brushes do you own?

Revlon Photoready Airbrush Mousse Foundation Review
A couple of months ago, a friend of mine told me about how much she loves this new airbrush foundation by revlon. Now some of you may or may have heard about it and I would like to say that I actually like this better then my mac studio sculpt foundation that I usually buy. I'll get into why I like this product better a little later.
So back to why I bought the product. I bought it because it was on sale at Rexall (where my friend works) and I decided that it was worth a try. Plus I get airmiles at Rexall so that may or may not have swayed my decision to buy this. I was a bit skeptical about the product when I was buying it because it is a mousse and I usually stay away from mousse because I don't usually find it does much for my skin.
The day after I bought the product, I decided to open it up and give er a go. At first I was a little unsure on how I should apply this because, again, it's a mousse. I was also unsure of how much of the product I was going to need. I gently pumped out some foam onto the back of my hand and decided to use a stippling brush to apply it which seemed to work pretty well. I find that I really only need a dime size amount of the product because one small pump does go a long way.
After I lost my stippling brush, I started using a regular foundation brush, which I actually like a lot better than my stippling brush which is surprising because I usually LOVE and rave about the stippling brush. With the regular foundation brush, I just gently press the brush into the product and using small strokes, apply it to my face. I would NOT suggest using your fingers to apply this product. Not even in an emergency situation would I use my fingers to apply this. I did it once, and I looked like an oompa loompa. Not cute at all.
Now on to why I choose this product over my mac studio sculpt that I usually buy. For the longest time I was only using my mac foundation, every once in a while I would try something new but I would always go back to my mac. Now don't get me wrong, i still love mac. I have been using this product for a few months now and I am on my second container of it. I was starting to find it a little stressful buying the mac foundation because in Canada, it costs me around $42 every time I need a new one, which as a student, has become a hard option for me. I knew I needed to try and find something a little cheaper.
This product works for me and I like it a bit better because it is very lightweight on my skin and doesn't make it look oily or anything like that. I also find that it lasts a long time and really stays on your skin well. The one bad thing I would say is that it can dry out your skin a bit, but I usually just put on a bit of primer or just some lotion before applying the foundation and I don't have any problems with it.
Again, everyones skin is different so this could be different for other people. I have very fair skin, and it tends to be on the dryer side. I do break out every so often and this foundation does a great job at hiding flaws without looking too cakey. So if you have skin similar to mine, you may want to try this out. It is a bit of a heavier coverage so keep that in mind if you are looking to try this product out.
This is a photo of me and a friend (I'm the blond on the right). I am wearing this foundation in this photo and as you can see it has great coverage for me and it still gives my skin a nice dewy kind of look to it. Not greasy, not dry, dewy. Just thought I would throw this photo in to give you guys an idea of what kind of coverage it gives.
Thanks for reading!! Have a Happy Easter everyone! If you celebrate Easter?
10,000 pageviews!
Hey everyone!
I just wanted to thank everyone for all of their support with the blog. I was really excited this weekend to see that I had reached 10,000 pageviews!
I never in a million years thought I would make it to 10,000 pageviews before summer hit, so thank you all again so much! I have been trying to blog as much as I possibly can, but it has been hard since I am in my last semester of Journalism. I have been extremely busy with my schooling and internship, so once summer hits I will be blogging A LOT more often. Since I have been busy, I am so pleasantly surprised by the 10,000 pageviews.
Anyways, I've babbled long enough. Thanks again!
